Including a multicultural perspective is essential in building a classroom community.  I encourage individualism in the classroom, where everyone learns about each other.  Below I have included a project I put together that is based around multiple multicultural books for children.  After choosing the books, I then thought of different activities to do with each book.  These books teach awareness of different cultures and the activities help to keep the students continually learning and engaging in the cultures.
